Verbwalking
NounSingular walking Plural walkings walking (plural walkings) From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Walking (also called ambulation) is the main form of animal locomotion on land, distinguished from running and crawling. When carried out in shallow waters, it is usually described as wading and when performed over a steeply rising object or an obstacle it becomes scrambling or climbing. The word walk is descended from the Old English wealcan "to roll". Walking is generally distinguished from running in that only one foot at a time leaves contact with the ground; for humans and other bipeds, running begins when both feet are off the ground with each step. (This distinction has the status of a formal requirement in competitive walking events, resulting in disqualification at the Olympic level.) For horses and other quadrupedal species, the running gaits may be numerous, and while walking keep three feet at a time on the ground. The average human child achieves independent walking ability around 11 months old. For humans, walking is the main form of transportation without a vehicle or riding animal. Although walking speeds can vary greatly depending on factors such as height, weight, age, terrain, surface, load, culture, and fitness, the average human walking speed is about 3 miles per hour. Specific studies have found pedestrian walking speeds ranging from 4.11 to 4.33 feet per second (2.8 mph ~ 2.95 mph | 4.51 kph ~ 4.75 kph) for older individuals to 4.85 to 4.95 fps (3.3 mph ~ 3.38 mph | 5.32 kph ~ 5.43 kph) for younger individuals. A pedestrian is a person who is walking on a road, sidewalk or path. From Wikipedia under the

Yes because I was in pre-labor for days they had me not eating all day walking up and down the hospital hallways. I couldn't eat because they were scared I'd go into labor and need a c-section because of my blood pressure, which they weren't letting me eat and I was in pain. I told them that was why my bp was up- they were messing with my system didn't even give me a vitamin but luckily that night I went into labor which I think walking helped a lot! Q. I'm planning on starting a dog walking business and I'm not sure how much to charge. These are the services that are included: 1hr Walk in the park/around the block Grooming Training I just need to know how much to charge for my time and effort. I already know what profit I will make off supplies. So can anyone help? Also, I'd have to pay my partner who helps with the same services. How will I work in the prices so I can pay him, too? Asked by (-Concrete Butterfly-) - Wed Sep 26 11:38:58 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. You need to check what other groomers and trainers are charging so that you can charge realistically and competitively. Do your homework amongst others in your area. Dog walking - You will need diffferent rates for dogs that are walked alone as opposed to those that are walked with others. Rates will depend on whether you are insured, dependability if you are ill or on holiday, whether all your employees are police checked etc. Suggest you google dog walking on the net - I did and found some that were prohibitively expensive and employed a lovely local lady instead. She charged the same as I earned in an hour. Answered by bri - Wed Sep 26 11:47:51 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "walking" Walking Through History
